Show Notes
Welcome to Hello Rebecca Ray, our collective home for courage, growth and human to human connection. I’m your host, Dr. Rebecca Ray, clinical psychologist, author, educator, but human first. I know only too well how comparison and self doubt can stifle your potential. This podcast is all about brave and meaningful living, and how you can make your authentic contribution to the world today, and everyday.
Lovely ones, welcome to episode zero of my new podcast: Hello, Rebecca Ray. I’m pretty excited to be here. This has been a long time in the making. You’ve been asking me for this for a number of years now. And I’ve come to a place where it’s time in my creative schedule to start putting podcast episodes out into the world. And I’m so grateful that you are here listening.
I’m here to help you go further than your mind is telling you that you can go. I’m here to help you harness your radical courage, overcome self-sabotage, and step into the most authentic version of yourself.
We’re going to explore things that hold you back, like imposter syndrome, procrastination, big and intense feelings like guilt, and shame and fears – like the fear of judgement, the fear of failure, the fear of imperfection, and the perils of comparison and competition that act to keep you small.
This is a pop psychology free zone, though. You know, you’re going to learn real psychological skills. The ones that help you to leap out of your comfort zone and live by your values and navigate the difficult parts of being a creator, entrepreneur, change-maker, and just a human in general.
But I’m not here as your guru. I’m here as your guide, and your ally. I don’t have it all figured out. I’m walking alongside you as we share the path of personal growth together. I’m going to share with you what I know from my years of training as a psychologist, and many more years of clinical practice. If I put all those years together, I think we’re talking about two decades now.
I’m going to share with you what does and doesn’t work when it comes to doing hard but important things. Things that I’ve learned the hard way a lot of the time. I’m going to share with you my challenges and triumphs, my regular confusion, and my sense that I have no idea how I got here, or what I’m doing a lot of the time. And I want to share with you the behind the scenes of my business, my creative process, and my ongoing relationship with life as it unfolds.
You’ll join me as I record from my home here on the Sunshine Coast in Australia, a beautiful little hamlet that I share with my wife, and our two year old son, Bennett. We live in a hinterland setting and we have the most beautiful liquid amber tree in our front yard. And my wife is a musician, and an audio engineer and producer and I’m coming to you from her music studio in the backyard.
In each episode, I hope that this will be your sanctuary. Your sanctuary that is free of judgement, expectation and rules around how it should be done. That is, your life, your work, and your contribution to the world.
We will constantly reject the word hustle. If you followed me for a while, you know that I consider hustle a curse word. We’re going to reject all that it suggests, and instead, create an entirely new paradigm about how we work, love, parent, and care for ourselves, all while being connected to what’s truly important.
I am so grateful that you’re here with me. And I can’t wait to dive into the coming episodes with you.

I found Episode #2 of your podcast at just the right time. I’m experiencing a really painful mourning process during my second pregnancy. I was hoping for another girl, and instead am having a boy. I’m having such a hard time letting go of the dream of having two daughters. This episode of your podcast has given me valuable information on how to let go and heal. I will come back and listen to it again in hopes that I process the information differently each time, and let go one finger at a time.
Thank you.
Thank you for this podcast. I’ve been trying to let go for a long time with advice from friends and family. My partner and I have separated and listening to advice from your podcast or even you quotes and blogs on Instagram have really helped me. Lots of love
I am a huge fan Bec and in fact, a past patient. You helped me then in a way that no one else had ever been able to. I feel great now and am still drawn to your wisdom and guiding words, to keep me on track and leading a happy, healthy life. Thank you for your generosity in creating these podcasts. There are so many gems within them. I’ll be listening to whatever you make available!
Wow!!
Your podcasts are so inspiring and moving.
You are such an inspiration and everyone should hear you!!!
Thank you so much!!! You have no idea how your podcast is important to me. This one specifically was the message that I needed to listen. I need to be brave and let go my past and live my present. It’s not easy but that’s what I have to do.
Moving from Brazil to Canada, and now from Canada do Australia is something that really affected me and I didn’t realize until I notice that I was not okay and not brave enough to show myself up.
Restart is not easy but I know I will win this battle.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
